These women were some of the amazing host mothers and women of the community of Rusestii Noi. We threw our host families a little party where we barbecued hamburgers and made American food to share a bit of our culture with them. It was a great success! After barbecuing, we sang American and Moldovan songs, and just enjoyed visiting. The woman standing up is Doamna (Mrs.) Domnica. She opened up her beautiful house to us to use as a language school. She and her husband are both well respected members of the community, and her husband was a Moldovan ambassador for many years. I really enjoyed getting to know them, and whenever I visit Rusestii Noi, they try to drop by and visit me. I have a lot of respect for them, as not only are they well established members of the community, but they are also very down to earth, generous and welcoming. The woman on the far right was my Noi host mom, Tasea, and the woman in pink on my host mom's left is Galina, one of the program coordinators for Peace Corps. All the other women were host moms for volunteers in the Rusestii Noi community.
